Club Christmas party set for Dec. 12

JOHNSTOWN — The following events are for the Johnstown 50 Plus Club, located in the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center, 109 E. Main St.

At 11:30 a.m. Thursday, there will be an officers meeting; at 1:15 p.m. will be the business meeting followed by Wii Bowling.

At 1 p.m. Dec. 11, is the club’s senior movie day at the Johnstown Movieplex. The price is $6 for admission, a small popcorn and beverage.

At noon Dec. 12, the club will hold its annual Christmas party. They will be getting together to celebrate the holiday with a hot buffet catered by the Hot Dog Hut of Johnstown, followed by a presentation of the Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular. Stop by the senior center business office to RSVP before Dec. 6, for this occasion. The cost is $15 per person.

At 1 p.m. Dec. 19, the club will hold a free movie day at the senior center. The movie is Elf, a Christmas tale for the whole family. The story follows one of Santa’s elves named Buddy who, after finding out that he’s adopted, goes looking for his human father in New York City. The film stars Will Ferrell, James Caan, Zooey Deschanel, and Bob Newhart, who all give great performances.

At noon Dec. 28, and to round out this year, join the club for a New Year’s covered dish luncheon. The guests are asked to bring a larger sized, covered dish to pass and their own place setting, a main dish will be provided for dinner and entertainment by Oldy B Goldy. RSVP by Dec. 20, for planning purposes.
