Arkell Center sets December schedule

CANAJOHARIE — The following are the Arkell Center programs for all area seniors for December.

Each Monday through Friday: At 11:45 a.m. the Office for the Aging Meals of Montgomery Program serves hot meals, $3 donation for ages 60 and older. Call (518) 673-2000 for reservations.

Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday: From 10 to 10:30 a.m. is senior exercise program in the basement. Coffee after.

Each Tuesday:

∫ From 9 to 10 a.m. core strength and stability class in basement with Sharon Charles, instructor. Donation: $5.

∫ From 10 to 11 a.m. Tai Chi class, sponsored by MCOFA, with Earl O’Bryan, instructor. Donations accepted.

Each Wednesday:

∫ From 1:45 to 2:25 p.m. is chair yoga in the gallery.

∫ From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. is gentle yoga with Patty Pietrowicz, instructor, in the basement. $5 donation.

Each Friday: From 9 to 10 a.m. yoga in the gallery. $10 fee.


Tuesday: From 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. the blood pressure clinic by Home Health Care Partner’s Corp., co-sponsored by St. Mary’s and Nathan Littauer hospitals.

Wednesday and Dec. 18: From 12:30 to 4 p.m. the senior citizens pinochle card party; donation $2 and there will be prizes and refreshments. Anyone who wants to sub, can call (518) 673-5635. No cards on Dec. 11, or 25.

Thursdays: From 10:15 to 11 a.m. the Diet Club in the gallery at Arkell Center. The goal is to be held accountable while maintaining weight; (518) 673-2112.

Friday: At 1 p.m. Canajoharie Senior Citizens meeting — bring a $5 donation. At 1:30 p.m. will be a make-your-own sundae.

Dec. 9: At 7 p.m. the Valley Choraliers will perform at Arkell Center.

Dec. 12: At 2 p.m. the Canajoharie Select Chorus, directed by Nick Anchor, will perform a Christmas medley in the Arkell Hall dining room.

Dec. 13: At 1:30 p.m. the Fort Plain fifth-and-sixth grade elementary students, directed by Julieanne Sincavage, will perform Christmas carols at Arkell Center.

Dec. 16: At 6:45 p.m. The Dream Catchers will perform at Arkell Center.

Dec. 24, and 25: Arkell Center will be closed.

Dec. 31, and Jan. 1, 2020: Arkell Center will be closed.

There will be no water color for December or January 2020; it will resume in February.
