Veteran’s Day lunch slated for Nov. 12
TRIBES HILL — The following meetings for the Tribes Hill Iroquois Seniors took place at 10 a.m. with a social hour hosted by Pam and Bill Jasewicz and Judy Shannon.
At both meetings:
Chaplain Barbara Furman opened the meeting with a prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a reading. The roll was taken by Vice President Pam Jasewicz. The minutes were read by the Barb Minch, secretary. The treasurer’s report was read by Barb Lampkin, treasurer, and will be filed for audit. In trips, Pat Schwartz is taking signups for the Colonie Center shopping trip on Nov. 14, with lunch at the Cracker Barrel. The non-member cost is $10. Lu Wilmot noted the Glen-Mohawk Seniors will be having a Veterans Day luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 12, at the Fonda Reformed Church. The cost is $10. Lamkin shared some jokes.
Furman gave the reading, “God’s Eternal Love.”
There were 31 members present.
The minutes from the Oct. 17, meeting were approved.
President Sherry Meyers read a thank you card from Elaine Hoyt.
Trip: Schwartz noted 35 have signed up for the Colonie Center trip so far. The bus will leave Tribes Hill at 10:30 a.m., then make another pick up in Amsterdam at 10:45 a.m.
Sunshine: Sylvia Burroughs will send out a sympathy card to a member.
Social: The club auction will be Nov. 7. The Christmas party will be Dec. 12, at the Raindancer, Amsterdam.
The 50-25-25 raffle winners were Charlene Fonda and Ted Dziezic.
Show and tell: Furman brought in an aloe plant which she gave to Hoyt.
Pam Jasewicz passed out puzzle pieces made from cut up cards and the members played a game trying to match up the pieces to make a whole card. The winners won scratch off tickets.
The meeting adjourned.

Trip: Schwartz noted 36 have signed up for the Colonie Center trip so far.
Sunshine: Burroughs sent out two cards and will send out a birthday card to a member.
Social: Pam Jasewicz noted for the Nov. 7, club auction, bring in gently used items or a baked good to raffle off. After a vote for the Dec. 12 Christmas party, it was decided the three food choices will be roast beef, seafood casserole and hot turkey sandwich.
Furman noted the previously announced Thursday senior swim at the Fonda-Fultonville Central School, has been canceled due to the lack of a lifeguard. The Sunday senior swim will still take place.
The 50-25-25 raffle winners were Allan Taylor and Schwartz.
Meyers read some Halloween trivia.
The meeting adjourned.
The Halloween party followed with a parade of members dressed in costumes and prizes given out.
Anyone who is looking for something to do on a Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to noon and wants to meet new people, feel free to come to one of the meetings. The group meets at 10 a.m. every Thursday at the Sacred Heart Church, Third Street. They are always looking for new members.
