Fulton County senior picnic Aug. 1
LASSELLSVILLE — The Western Fulton County Seniors July meeting was called to order by President Angela Hill, with the Pledge of Allegiance and recitation of “The Lord’s Prayer.” The reports of the secretary and treasurer were read and passed with all in favor.
A representative from the Fulton County Office for the Aging offered current information regarding the Fulton County annual picnic, to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 1, at Concordia Park. The guidelines regarding the Farmers Market, Medicare limits for July, Medicare Savings Plan and eligibility were also given. It was noted the five-year plan for the OFA is now being discussed, and a survey for feedback to help with this was given out.
There will be a murder mystery trip to Lake George on Aug. 14. The price is $46 per person. Also scheduled is a northern fall foliage and farm tour at Gavins in the Catskills with guided tour and a craft workshop on Oct. 23. The price is $40 per person. The club will be hosting the Oppenheim and Stratford seniors at noon Aug. 7, at the group’s facility.
The annual picnic with the Mayfield Bannertown Seniors will be held rain or shine on Wednesday at the Glenn Harris pavilion, Caroga Lake.
The seniors will hold a bake sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 27, at the Lassellsville facility, Route 29.
Rose and Marty Nemecek obtained McDonald’s raffle tickets as a fundraiser. The tickets are available from Rose Nemecek at $6 each; for additional tickets, call at (518) 673-4109. The tickets will be on sale for the food basket raffle at the Sept. 9, meeting with the drawing to be done at the Dec. 9, meeting. The 50-50 raffle was won by Linda Christman. The raffle was won by Donielle Rozkydal.
A successful auction was then held, with the receipts being put toward the group’s Christmas luncheon.
Anyone interested in attending the regular second Monday monthly meeting held at noon with potluck lunch, and the semi-monthly meeting held on the fourth Monday is welcome. Come early to visit or play cards. For information on the club and its activities, call Hill at (518) 993-5357.
