Catered park picnic is slated for July 25
TRIBES HILL — The Tribes Hill Iroquois Seniors had their Thursday meeting at 10 a.m. with a social hour hosted by Judy Russo, Charlene Fonda and Donna Day.
Chaplain Barbara Furman opened the meeting with a reading titled “You’re Always Here” followed by a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
The roll was taken by Vice President Pam Jasewicz with 30 members and three guests including Alan Buck present.
The minutes were read by Barb Minch, secretary, from the June 27, meeting and were approved.
The treasurer’s report was read by Barb Lampkin, treasurer, and will be filed for audit.
Office for the Aging: Furman reported OFA has Farmers Market coupons and tickets for the senior picnic on Sept. 13, for $10.
Sunshine: Sylvia Burroughs sent out cards to several members and will send a thinking of you card to a member.
Unfinished business: Allan Buck, a trustee of the Glen-Mohawk Seniors, reported it was voted on June 18, not to pick up in Amsterdam for any future bus trips; and if, for any reason, a member doesn’t go on the trip, a refund cannot be given back once the trip is paid for.
Schwartz suggested the club purchase some fans for the hall where the meetings are held because of the heat. After a vote, it was decided that Barb Lampkin would look for one fan and Nora Olander will donate a fan that she has at home.
Social: President Sherry Meyers reported the picnic on July 25, in the Tribes Hill Park will be catered by the Hot Dog Hut. The regular meeting will start at 11 a.m. with lunch following. If possible, bring a chair. Two members volunteered to donate desserts.
