Penpal luncheon slated for May 23
CAROGA LAKE — The Nick Stoner Seniors met on Tuesday at noon. There were 32 members and 3 guests present for the pre-Easter luncheon followed by the meeting which was called to order at 1 p.m. by Grace Eglin President.
Barbara Belton read a prayer “Friend” followed by the Lord’s Prayer dedicated to Don Travis who is not feeling well.
Eglin led the Salute to the flag and hello to your neighbor. There was no secretary report. Shirley Holliday gave the treasury report MaryLou Paterson and Linda Rhinehart did the audit of the books for the year and said everything was in order.
In hospitality, the refreshment committee for the May 7 meeting is Janice McLaughlin, David Nilsen and Kitty Riznyk. In the sunshine report, Mary Lou Paterson sent out seven birthday cards and two anniversary cards this month. Janice McLaughlin gave the penpal report we are to bring in our letters for judging on May 7 as the penpal luncheon is on May 23 at noon at the Wheelerville School.
On the trip report, flyers were handed out with all the trips for the year with the dates times and cost. Those who did not get one should contact Eglin. Sharon Fenstermacher took attendance and sold raffle tickets among many other things she helped with the setting up of the tables for the Easter Luncheon.
The 50/25/25 raffle was won by Sherry Young, who donated it back to the club. Dottie Richeson made centerpieces for the tables that were raffled off. Jeannine Schwartz made a set of wood bunnies and Myrtle Dermott won them.
Eglin thanked everyone who brought food and wished everyone a Happy Easter.
Anyone who wants to join the group, can come to the meeting at noon the first and third Tuesday of the month at the Caroga Town Hall. The dues are $10 for the year.
