Monthly luncheon slated for Aug. 14

FONDA — The Glen-Mohawk Seniors regular meeting on Tuesday was called to order by President Alan Buck. Chaplain Alan Taylor gave the opening prayer and Barbara Furman accompanied on piano with the group singing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.” The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The roll call was taken with 23 members present and two guests, Louise Boyer’s granddaughter who is visiting from Fort Plain, and Lu Wilmot’s grandson, Matthew Rose. The August agenda was handed out.

The reports were given and there was an update on the Aug. 20 to 22, Lancaster, Pa. trip. Chairman Lu Wilmot said the final payment is due. Those who are not going on the trip will be participating in a pizza party with games and prizes on Aug. 21, with Buck in charge.

On Aug. 14, table one will sponsor the monthly luncheon with the entrees coming from Kentucky Fried Chicken. The last day to sign up will be Tuesday.

Joe Mancini had some humorous stories to share. Pat Putman and Furman handled the prize drawing. The winners were Gretha Russell and Wilmot.

Several stayed to play bingo with Peggy LaBarge calling.

The next meeting will be Tuesday at Fonda Reformed Church hall at 10:30 a.m. with a social hour preceding the meeting.
