Glen-Mohawk senior trip to Lancaster, Pa.

FONDA — The Glen-Mohawk Seniors regular meeting on Tuesday, was called to order by President Alan Buck. He welcomed Doris Hersey as a new member. Chaplain Alan Taylor gave the opening prayer and Barbara Furman accompanied on piano with the group singing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.” The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The roll call was taken with 30 members present and one guest, Louise Boyer’s great-granddaughter who is visiting from Dolgeville.

The reports were given and there was an update on the Aug. 20 to 22, Lancaster, Pa. trip. Chairman Lu Wilmot said the final payment is due next week.

On Aug. 14, table one will sponsor the August luncheon, with the entree coming from Kentucky Fried Chicken. The signups will begin next week. Olive Taylor had a humorous story to share. Pat Putman and Furman handled the prize drawing. The winners were Joe Mancini and Jim Douglass. Eleven stayed to play bingo with Peggy LaBarge calling.

The next meeting will be Tuesday at Fonda Reformed Church hall at 10:30 a.m., with a social hour preceding the meeting.
