Racing hall set to host book signing
SARATOGA SPRINGS — Author Greg Veitch and his father, author Michael Veitch, will be speaking about their books and signing copies at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame on Monday at 7 p.m.
The event is free to attend and books will be available for purchase.
Greg Veitch, the Saratoga Springs police chief, will be discussing his recent release “All the Law in the World Won’t Stop Them.”
The book features many vivid stories relating to the history of gambling, crime and corruption in the Spa City, including several events and characters related to Saratoga Race Course.
Michael Veitch, who has been covering Saratoga racing for The Saratogian and The Pink Sheet since 1979, has written two books on the sport’s history in the city that he will discuss: “Foundations of Fame: Nineteenth Century Thoroughbred Racing in Saratoga Springs” and “Summit of Champions: Thoroughbred Racing in Saratoga Springs 1901-1955.”
One of the foremost experts on the history of thoroughbred racing in Saratoga Springs, Veitch is also the chairman of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame’s Historic Review Committee and a member of the Saratoga Springs History Museum Hall of Fame.
