H.S. Softball Roundup: Fonda-Fultonville sweeps Gloversville

FONDA — Fonda-Fultonville posted a pair of wins over Gloversville in a non-league softball doubleheader Saturday.

The Lady Braves won the first game, 10-1, and the second game, 8-7.

In the first game, Brianne Egelston allowed just four hits in five innings for FFCS. Shelby Crahan had a home run, while Emma Crahan had a double and a single.

In the second game, the Lady Braves rallied from a 7-2 deficit to claim the 8-7 win.

Marilyn Whitcavitch, Brianne Egelston and Haley Williams all had singles for Fonda-Fultonville.

On Friday, Whitcavitch had a double to help FFCS post a 19-8 Western Athletic Conference victory over Middleburgh.

Williams had three strikeouts for the Lady Braves and earned the win.

Non-league

Corinth 12, Galway 1

CORINTH — Alex Carney was 3-for-4 with two RBIs to power Corinth to a non-league win over Galway.

Mya Manning was 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs for the Tomahawks, while Alexa Abbatontouno had a home run and a triple. Amelia Robarge added a triple and an RBI for Corinth (6-0 overall).

Emma Smith had a single and a triple for Galway (2-2 overall).
