Foothills Council bowling all-star teams announced

The Gloversville Huskies bowling team won the Foothills Council regular season title for the first time since 1999 with a 60-12 record. Several area bowlers were among those named to the 2018-19 Foothills Council bowling all-star team.

Johnstown’s Mick Winton, Amsterdam’s Jon Schultz, Gloversville’s Derek Taylor and Gloversville’s Adam Loveless all were named to the first team.

Winton, a freshman, finished the season with a 213 average, while Schultz had a 210 average. Taylor posted a 200 average for the Huskies, while Loveless averaged a 201. Gloversville won the regular-season Foothills Council title.

Amsterdam’s Nic Carbone (194), Gloversville’s Lane Dailey (181) and Gloversville’s Aiden Carter (191) were named second-team all-stars.

Also named to the first team were South Glens Falls’ Will Bickford (218 average), Scotia-Glenville’s Jacob McKenzie (202), South Glens Falls’ Kara Rapp (203) and South Glens Falls’ Dalton Jones (198).

Rounding out the second-team all-stars were South Glens Falls’ Mykal Brunell (195), Scotia-Glenville’s Brett Unser (195), Schuylerville’s Colton Weatherwax (194), Hudson Falls’ Logan Bennett (193) and Glens Falls’ Payton Granger (194).

In addition to its all-star teams, the Foothills Council also handed out sportsmanship awards.

Gloversville’s Brad Wisniewski, Broadalbin-Perth’s Alex Filmer, Amsterdam’s Briana Bascom and Johnstown’s Steven Hulbert were among those earning sportsmanship awards.

Rounding out the sportsmanship award winners were Scotia-Glenville’s Ryan Rockwell, Hudson Falls’ Taylor Markham, Scotia-Glenville’s Jacy Roman, Queensbury’s Alyssa Clark, Schuylerville’s Rachel McInerney and Glens Falls’ Austin Montello.
