FMCC women lose to Herkimer, 57-47

HERKIMER — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College women’s basketball team jumped out to a 15-10 first-quarter lead but could not hold off the Herkimer Generals as they answered with a 22-7 second-quarter run to pick up a 57-47 Mountain Valley Conference victory Saturday at Herkimer County Community college.

Niaimani Marshall led the Lady Raiders with 23 points, while McKiea Weekes finished with 11 points.

The Generals (5-11 overall, 3-3-conference) were lead by Markia Peak’s 19 points, while Lexi DeBeatham finished with 13 points.

FMCC and Herkimer will meet again on Friday at 7 p.m. at FMCC.
