Dolgeville competes at sectional meet

UTICA — The Dolgeville boys and girls indoor track and field teams competed at the Section III Class C-D Championships on Friday at the Hutton Dome at Utica College.

The Dolgeville boys placed 13th in the team standings with 7 points. Oriskany won the team title with 72 points, West Canada Valley was second with 71 points and Tully was third with 69 points.

Tyler Scheurman was fourth in the 300-meter dash for Dolgeville with a time of 42.29 seconds, while Jesse Bolster was fifth in the 3,200 meters with a time of 11:25.94.

The team of Chyle Grossman, Jacob Grossman, Scheurman and Dustin Benoit was sixth in the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 4:11.75.

In the girls meet, Dolgeville placed 14th in the team standings with 8 points.

South Lewis won the team title with 145 points, Tully was second with 82 points and Poland was third with 66 points.

Abigail Brent was second in the weight throw for the Blue Devils with a throw of 34-2.
