Hudson Falls improves to 4-0 with win over Sir Bills
HUDSON FALLS — Johnstown and Hudson Falls battled to a 1-1 tie before the Tigers connected for three second-half goals to defeat the Sir Bills 4-2 Thursday at Hudson Falls High School and improve to 4-0-0 overall and 3-0-0 against Foothills Council competition.
Ryan Melucci picked up a hat trick and Shawness Williams scored his first varsity goal for Hudson Falls.
Joey Matthews finished off an assist from Charlie Brown for Johnstown’s first-half goal and Zach Serpa finished off an assist from Hank Bobbette for the Sir Bills second-half goal.
Josh Hoyt collected eight saves in goal for Johnstown (1-3 overall, 1-3 Foothills), while Justin Fenton had three saves for the Tigers.
Hudson Falls also held a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Queensbury 5, Gloversville 0
QUEENSBURY –The Spartans improved their league record to 3-0 with the shut out over Gloversville Thursday at Queensbury High School.
Teddy Borgos, Aidan Jordi-Donnelly, Ray Jones, Alex Roca and Sam Rowley collected goals for Queensbury (5-1 overall, 3-0 Foothills), and Jordi-Donnelly added two assists and Lorenzo Cicogna had an assist.
Queensbury held a 15-6 edge in shots on goal and a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Jacob Kataneksza and Kayden King had five saves apiece for Gloversville (0-3, 0-3) and Ethan Willis had two saves for Queensbury.
Schuylerville 4, Broadalbin-Perth 2
SCHUYLERVILLE — The Black Horses got a goal in the opening minute of play when Nick Budesheim headed home a cross from Zach Saddlemire and opened a 2-0 halftime lead.
Broadalbin-Perth battled back to trim the lead to 2-1 early in the second half on a Jared Eipp penalty kick, but Schuylerville answered with two quick goals and held on for the 4-2 league win.
Mike Lanfear finished with two goals for the Black Horses, while Budesheim and Jared Everleth had one apiece.
Eipp and Brady Goodemote accounted for the Patriots scoring.
Schuylerville held an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal and 6-1 in corner kicks.
John Marsden collected nine saves in goal for Broadalbin-Perth (1-2, 1-2) and Drew Phillips had three saves for Schuylerville (4-1, 3-1).
South Glens Falls 8, Amsterdam 1
SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Bobby Bruschini, Andrew King and Colin Parker all scored two goals apiece for South Glens Falls and Lanning Torebka and Logan Carruthers each added a goal as the Bulldogs evened their record to 3-3-0 Thursday at South Glens Falls High School.
Randy Spraker accounted for Amsterdam’s score, finishing a pass from Luke Patrei in the 18 minutes into the match.
Bruschini, Carruthers, Colin Parker, Gavin Parker and Vincent Santilli all collected assists for the Bulldogs.
South High out shot Amsterdam 15-4 and both teams finished with three corner kicks.
Matt Crounse collected four saves in goal for Amsterdam (1-3-0) and Sebastian Maynard had three stops for South Glens Falls.

Dolgeville 3, Canastota 2
CANASTOTA — Garret Lettow delivered two goals and Jake Null had a goal and an assist to lead Dolgeville to victory over Canastota Thursday at Canastota High School.
Brian Lamphere collected 18 saves in goal for the Blue Devils (3-0 overall, 2-0 CSC).
Doan Stuart 4, Northville 0
NORTHVILLE — Doane Stuart got two first-half goals from Kyaw Kwin en route to defeating Northville 4-0 in non-league boys soccer action Thursday.
Eh Doh Kyi and Nelson Htoo added second-half goals for the Thunder Chicken (3-2-0 overall).
Daniel VanNostrand made five saves in goal for Northville (0-2-0 overall, 0-0-0 WAC), while Hesperos Mariposa made six stops on six Northville shots on goal.
Northville opens Western Athletic Conference play today with a home match against Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville at the Prospect Street Field.
