FMCC goes 1-2 in Herkimer pod play
HERKIMER — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College volleyball team went 1-2 in weekend play. FMCC traveled to Herkimer on Sunday to take part in POD play. FM beat Erie 3-0, fell to Jamestown 0-3 and fell in their final match to Niagara 2-3.
In the win against Erie, FMCC took all three sets 25-21, 27-25, and 25-23. Camryn Leggett had nine kills, nine digs and three blocks for the Lady Raiders, while Ashlee Kelly had 26 assists.
Against Jamestown, FMCC fell 25-19, 25-19, and 25-17. Leggett and Brianna Port each had two kills. Tesa Brody, Abigail Pritchard and Karena West each finished with three digs.
FMCC went all five sets against Niagara, but came up short 3-2. The Raiders won the first two sets; 25-11 and 25-18, but fell in the final three sets 25-23, 25-16 and 15-13.
West led the Lady Raiders with seven kills and Port and Kelly finished with five apiece. Leggett finished with 12 digs and Port and Pritchard followed with nine. Raina Danylak had six blocks for FMCC.
The Lady Raiders next match will be Wednesday, when they will travel to SUNY Adirondack for a 6 p.m. match.
