C-FP volleyball wins tourney title

LANSINGBURGH — The Canajoharie-Fort Plain volleyball team won the Lansingburgh Tournament on Saturday.

C-FP finished first in pool play and defeated Troy in the championship match, 25-22 and 25-21.

Sydney Shepard had 17 service points, 15 kills, 14 aces and nine digs on the day for Canajoharie-Fort Plain, while Sarah Paradiso had 40 assists, eight points, four aces, two kills and one block.

McKayla Hayner posted nine service points, five kills and four aces for C-FP, Kayla Mastin had nine kills, seven points, five aces and four blocks, and Lauren Weinberger finished with 19 digs and five assists.

Other teams at the tournament included host Lansingburgh, Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Waterford-Halfmoon.

Canajoharie-Fort Plain is scheduled to host Mekeel Christian Academy on Tuesday.
