Mayfield-Northville golfers post WAC win

NORTHAMPTON — The Mayfield/Northville golf team posted a 9-6 victory over Middleburgh in Western Athletic Conference action Thursday at Sacandaga Golf Course.

Mayfield/Northville got match victories from Gavin Bown, George Abdella and James DeRonda and won total 217-221.

Bown carded the low score of the match with his round of 50, while Abdella shot 54 and DeRonda 54. Cameron Abdella added a 62, while Owen Mormile shot 67 and Dillan Salvione turned in a 73.

John Brown led Middleburgh with his round of 52, while Josh Reinhart shot 53 and Andrew Miaski shot 55. Will Churchill added a round of 61 for the Knights, while Derek Mooney shot 67 and Tyler Mann added a 69.

Mayfield-Northville is slated to take to the road for its next match on Tuesday against Fort Plain at the Canajoharie Country Club.

Fonda-Fultonville 4

BALLSTON SPA — Ryan Lovelass turned in a round of 36 to lead Galway to an 11-4 victory over Fonda-Fultonville in Western Athletic Conference golf action at Pioneer Hills Golf Course.

Nick Zuk finished with a 45 for the Eagles, while Josh Lovelass shot 47, Matt Smith 52, Sam D’Alessandro 69 and Jon Fajans carded a 74.

For Fonda-Fultonville, Matt Zumbolo turned in a round of 45, while Max Shirley shot 50, Al Mancini 52, Jake Bowles 56 and Cayden Egelston shot 66.
