Area riders post wins at Royal

CAROGA LAKE — Several area riders posted victories during Monster Energy Supercross competition Wednesday at Royal Mountain Ski Area.

Johnstown’s Casey Battisti won the 122-250cc expert and 122-open expert classes, while Mayfield’s Jordan Miller won the pit bike and quad schoolboy classes.

Fonda’s Carter Petersen won the 122-125cc two-stroke and schoolboy classes. Petersen also was second in the 122-250cc novice class.

Broadalbin’s Anthony Musto won the quad novice class, Gloversville’s Burton Wilson won the plus-30 expire class and Gloversville’s Salvatore Attigliato won the 122-250cc amateur class.

Johnstown’s Maxx Miller won the 50cc pee wee senior 7- and 8-year-old class. Miller also was fourth in the mini 60cc 7- to 11-year-old class.

In addition to Battisti, Petersen and Miller, three other riders claimed wins in multiple classes.

Burnt Hills’ Bryce Mussen won 122-250cc novice and 122-open novice classes, while Westerlo’s Blake Shaver won the junior mini 9- to 11-year-old and mini 80cc 9- to 11-year-old classes. Cobleskill’s Joe Edwards won the mini 80cc 12- to 15-year-old class and the open mini 10- to 16-year-old class.

Other winners included Scotia’s Carter Gibbons (122-open amateur), East Berne’s Finn Smith (50cc pee wee junior 4-6), Scotia’s Brennan Rodecker (mini 60cc 7-11), New Berlin’s Lucas Etzl (mini quad 50cc production), East Berne’s Alissa Duncan (mini quad 51-90cc production), Yorkville’s Jamie Nimey (plus-40 amateur) and Fort Edward’s Dustin Peterson (plus-30 amateur).

Several area riders posted top-five finishes.

Fonda’s Tyler Blowers was second in the 122-open amateur class and second in the schoolboy class, while Johnstown’s Hayden Zelich was third in the mini 80cc 12- to 15-year-old class and fourth in the open mini 10- to 16-year-old class.

Johnstown’s Bennett Melita was second in the mini 80cc 12- to 15-year-old class and third in the open mini 10- to 16-year-old class, while Gloversville’s Devin Buyce was second in the open mini 10- to 16-year-old class and fourth in the mini 80cc 12- to 15-year-old class.

St. Johnsville’s Andrew Duesler was third in the 122-125cc two-stroke class, while Gloversville’s Anthony Attigliato was fifth in the 122-250cc novice class.

In the 122-open novice class, Gloversville’s Matthew Telfer was third, Mayfield’s Nick Cross was fourth and Nelliston’s Tyler Dygert was fifth.

Johnstown’s Kip Simonds was fifth in the 50cc pee wee senior 7- and 8-year-old class, Dolgeville’s Jim George was fifth in the mini 60cc 7- to 11-year-old class and Fonda’s Charles Rose was fifth in the open mini 10- to 16-year-old class.

In the plus-40 amateur class, Gloversville’s Keith Orr was second and Gloversville’s Dennis Fitzpatrick was third.

Fonda’s Tyler Miller was second in the mini quad 50cc production class, while Gloversville’s Tyler Rizzo was fifth in the mini quad 51-90cc production class.

Amsterdam’s Courtney Trombley was second in the quad schoolboy class, while Johnstown’s Michael Ward was second in the plus-30 expert class.

In the plus-30 amateur class, Pattersonville’s Mike Baker was second, Gloversville’s Sean Dufel was third and Johnstown’s Jason Cook was fifth.
