Mohawks roll past Oneonta, 14-2

ONEONTA — The Amsterdam Mohawks pounded out 16 hits on their way to a 14-2 victory over Oneonta in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest Monday at Damaschke Field.

The Mohawks scored five times in the first inning on their way to the victory.

Richie Barrella and Jake Hammon each had three hits for Amsterdam, while Elvis Peralta Jr. and Joe Genord each had two hits and three RBIs. Peralta had a home run.

Michael Ludowig and Shane Muntz each had two hits for the Mohawks.

Trip Lockhart earned the win for Amsterdam, allowing two hits, two runs, four walks and striking out 10 in seven innings.

Cassius Young, Noah Cabrera, Kyle Ruedisilli and Kenny Hayden all had singles for Oneonta, which suffered its 10th straight loss.

Amsterdam is scheduled to host Saugerties today. The teams will complete their suspended game at 5 p.m., followed by the regularly scheduled contest.
