Opalka competing for Sage track

POUGHKEEPSIE — The Sage Colleges’ women’s and men’s track and field teams competed Saturday at the Vassar College Invitational. 

In the women’s competition, Vassar won the team crown with a score of 171, while Sage finished in seventh place with a score of 28 in the field of 10 teams. Stevens won the men’s team crown with a score of 265, while Sage picked up 10th place in the invitational.

For the Gator women on Saturday, junior Victoria Opalka, a Broadalbin-Perth graduate, took 12th place in the 1,500 meter run in 5:37.33.

Sage is scheduled to compete in the Capital District Championship at RPI on April 29.
