Kart show set for today and Sunday

GLOVERSVILLE — The Wing Champ Racing Series will visit Runnings today and Sunday for a kart show.

The Wing Champ Racing Series will showcase several of their 2018 race teams that will be competing in New York State and Pennsylvania. WCRS officials will be on hand both days to answer questions and provide free schedule cards to all race fans in attendance. This will be the second consecutive year that the Runnings store has hosted the two-day event.

The WCRS is a four-division series that began as one division two years ago racing locally at the Montenaro Family run Dodge City Speedway in Howes Cave and the Caroga Creek Speedway in Ephratah, promoted by Todd Moran.

In 2018, six more tracks have been added to the schedule along with three youth divisions –Rage Karts Future Wing Stars (ages 5-9), Adrenaline Rush Racing Junior Young Guns (ages 8-12), Adrenaline Rush Young Guns (ages 12-15) and the WCRS Adult division (ages 16 and older).

The WCRS invites any and all race fans to the Runnings store, which is located at 233 Fifth Ave. Ext..

The store and show hours are today from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WCRS Racing Director Tom Varin will be on hand both days along with reps from Dodge City Speedway, which will be hosting its WCRS event July 27.
