JOHNSTOWN — After playing to a 13-point draw in the first quarter of Tuesday’s Western Athletic Conference crossover game, Fonda-Fultonville outscored Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons 16-5 in the second quarter and cruised to the 44-27 victory at Fulton-Montgomery Community College.

Abby Lombardoni led the Lady Braves with her 20-point performance, while Carly Atty, Alyssa Duval and Kaleigh Smith scored six points apiece and Jillian Wilder had four and Marilyn Whitcavich rounded out the Lady Braves scoring with two points.

Jailene Santiago led Bishop Gibbons with her 12-point effort all from behind the 3-point arc.

JOHNSTOWN — Elizabeth Singleton scored a game-high 36 points to lead Mekeel Christian Academy past Berne-Knox-Westerlo and claim Western Athletic Conference Championship Tuesday night at Fulton-Montgomery Community College.

Rebekkah Dean joined Singleton in double-digits with 19, while Jillian Ballard scored three points and Maraya Davis had two points to round out the Lions’ scoring.

Taylor Meacham paced Berne-Knox-Westerlo with 17 points, while Alexis Wright finished with 12 points and Willow Ruiz chipped in with seven.

Rachael Lamphere had five points for the Lady Blue Devils, while Samantha Frasier chipped in with four.

Abby Gorinshek led West Canada Valley with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Skyler Gay finished with 10 points and five rebounds and Jordyn Conte chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.
