FMCC bowlers fifth at tourney

SOUTH GLENS FALLS — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College men’s and women’s bowling teams completed their conference matches on Friday at King Pin Lanes in South Glens Falls and both teams finished third in the conference.

The men finished 5-5 on the day with an overall league record of 15 wins and 15 losses. The Lady Raiders went 4-4 on Friday and finished with an overall record of 11 wins and 13 losses.

The women were lead by freshman Shea Weaver of Gloversville who posted a high series of 581 and a high single of 210. Co-captain Makayla Williams of Esperance had a 560 series with a high game of 200.

Other high singles belonged to Shayla Staves (184), Ally Colp (178), Kendra Sweet (165), and Angel LaFreniere (158).

In the second match, Williams and Colp paced the Lady Raiders with high series of 594 and 563 respectively. Co-captain Kendra Sweet rolled a series of 511 and a high game of 203. Other high scores were Angel LaFreniere with a 183 and Weaver at 156.

The men’s team continued to improve as they were paced by Bryan Green of Scotia with an early series of 640 and then fired right back in the second session with a 653. Green rolled games 267, 242, and 225. Richard Taylor of Gloversville followed Green in the second set with a 648 triple. His high games for the day were 227, 217, 204 and a 202. Other high singles for the day were Charlie Cusano 224, Robert Ward 210 and 203, Brandon LIttle 232, and David Servello 181.

FMCC travels to Utica Sunday for it’s regional event to be held at Pin-O-Rama.
