Pettit scores victory for Fighting Tigers
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The SUNY Cobleskill men’s swimming & diving team closed out the dual meet portion of their schedule over the weekend by splitting a pair of decisions at a double dual event hosted by Wilkes University.
The Fighting Tigers lost to host Wilkes University by a score of 136-86, while defeating SUNY Delhi by a 129-70 margin. With the split Cobleskill close the season with a 6-4 record versus head-to-head competition.
Gloversville graduate Joslen Pettit was an individual event winner at the event posting a victory in the 50-yard butterfly in 28.30 seconds.
The Fighting Tigers also posted a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay as the team of Pettit. Daniel Mullen, Sam Datri and Mike Girolamo registered a winning time of 3:47.07.
Dukes scores 18 in loss for Sage
ROCHESTER — The Sage Colleges’ men’s basketball team travelled to Nazareth College on Saturday afternoon for an Empire 8 contest. The Golden Flyers held a 34-27 halftime lead and went on to earn the 64-60 victory over Sage Nazareth is now 12-6, 7-2 in the Empire 8, while Sage drops to 7-11 overall and 2-7 in the league.
Sage’s forward Barceem Dukes, a Gloversville graduate, collected a double-double adding 18 points with 13 rebounds for the Gators. The 13 rebounds tied his season- and career-high with the performance and shot 8-for-19 from the floor.
Parslow finishes with nine points
ROCHESTER — Sage’s women’s basketball team travelled to western New York to take on Nazareth College on Saturday afternoon in an Empire 8 contest. The Golden Flyers collected the 52-42 win over Sage to improve to 9-9 overall and 5-4 in the Empire 8. With the loss, Sage falls to 12-6 overall and 6-3 in the Empire 8.
Sage’s junior guard Emily Parslow, a Fonda-Fultonville graduate, collected nine points with five rebounds and two assists.
