Dolgeville to host benefit match today

DOLGEVILLE — The Dolgeville girls varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams will be taking to the court for today’s matchup with Old Forge looking to score, not only a home victory, but also some additional support for the American Cancer Society.

The school will host heir second Coaches vs. Cancer night, which is a national effort by high school and collegiate coaches to raise awareness and funds to further research, education, advocacy and patient service programs through the American Cancer Society.

The players are selling pin-up cards, hosting a bake sale, holding a 50/50 in support of the cause, as well as a basket and gift card raffle.

The pin-up cards will be available for a $1 donation.

Each junior vanity and varsity team member has cards which may be purchased in honor or in memory of someone.

There will be cards available at the match. A “Wall of Hope” will be created and displayed in the lobby.

The junior varsity match is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity contest.
