Huskies place third at meet

SCHENECTADY — The Gloversville boys indoor track team posted a third-place finish, while the girls were sixth at Tuesday’s Tri-County Indoor Track League meet at Union College.

The Huskies scored 94 points to finish third behind Niskayuna (131) and Scotia-Glenville (120), while the girls scored 11 points in the meet.

Ryan Smith and Raymond Strauser posted victories for the Huskies.

Strauser won the long jump with a leap of 17-07.75, while placing second in the high jump with a height of 5-03 and third in the triple jump with a leap of 34-00.5.

Smith took top honors in the 45-meter dash with his time of 5.7 and placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 14-02.75.

Ian Hoyt was second in the 45-meter dash with his time of 5.9 and was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 14-11.75. Ryan Issa was runner-up in the 1,000-meter run with his time of 3:03.3 and placed fifth in the 1,600 meters with a time of 5:20.6.

Skyler Reed was fourth in the 1,600 meters in 5:14.9 and fourth in the 3,200 meters with his time of 11:45.7.

Jason Dennie placed fourth in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:11.3 and was sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 29-11.25.

Brent Muhlberger placed fifth in 1,000 meters with his time of 3:12.2, while Zachary Rocas was sixth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:27.1 and Emran Abbas placed fifth in the 300-meter dash with a time of 45.0.

Trevor Mee turned in a second-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 35-11.0 and Paul-John Clet was fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 33-08.75.

Rhea Winter led the girls with her third place finish in the 300 meters with a time of 47.9 and was sixth in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:55.2.

Autumn Hardman was fifth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:54.1 and Jenny Vickery placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 25-03.
