Fonda-Fultonville track teams place third at indoor meet

SCHENECTADY — The Fonda-Fultonville boys and girls indoor track teams placed third at a Tri County Indoor Track League meet Wednesday at Union College.

The Braves placed third behind Averill Park and Christian brothers Academy, while the Lady Braves were third behind champion Averill Park and runner-up Ichabod Crane.

Chris Yarush led the Braves with his victory in the shot put with a throw of 47-04.5, while Leif Morford placed sixth in the event with a toss of 36-01.0.

Brady Myles was second in the triple jump with a leap of 35-04.0, while Trevor Cline was fourth with his jump of 31-11.5 and Gabe Mormile was sixth with his leap of 30-05.0.

Aidan Zenzen placed third in the 3,200 meter run with a time of 11:28.3, while Eric Hesch was fifth in the 50-meter hurdles in 10.4 and Myles Anderson was sixth in the 1,000-meter run with his time of 3:06.1 and Carter Petersen cleared the bar at 8-00.0 to place sixth in the pole vault.

On the girls side, the 4×400-meter relay team of Emma Rhodes, Madison Nichols, Kaitlyn Gray and Emilia Vardai-Davidson took top honors with their time of 4:55.8.

Rhodes also placed second in the 50-meter hurdles with her time of 8.9 and was second in the long jump with her leap of 14-05.5.

Vardai-Davidson placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 13-05.0, while Nichols was fourth in the 300 meters with her time of 49.8.

Hannah Lewis was third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 6:00.9 and fourth in the 1,000 meters with a 3:57.2.

Alyson Shirley finished in a tie for third in the high jump with her height of 4-03.0 and was fourth in the 50-meter hurdles with a time of 8.9.

Sierra Grant placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 28-10.0, while Kianna Hanson earned sixth-place points in the 600-meter run with a time of 2:22.6.
