Field Hockey Roundup: Johnstown blanks Queensbury

QUEENSBURY — Anna Lee scored the game’s only goal in the first half to lift Johnstown to a 1-0 victory over Queensbury in a Foothills Council field hockey contest Tuesday.

Abby VanValkenburgh made four saves to post the shutout in goal for the Lady Bills, who improved to 3-1 overall and 3-1 in Foothills play.

Meg Chamberlain finished with seven saves for Queensbury (2-3 overall, 2-2 Foothills).

South Glens Falls 3, Gloversville 2

SOUTH GLENS FALLS — After trailing 2-0 at the half, South Glens Falls scored three unanswered goals in the second half to earn a victory over Gloversville in a Foothills Council field hockey contest.

Liz Ahrens finished with a goal and two assists for South Glens Falls (2-3 overall, 1-3 Foothills), while Hannah McLean and Mia Cooper also scored.

Riley King scored both goals for Gloversville (1-3 overall, 1-3 Foothills).

Emily Baker and Taylor Hayes combined to make five saves for South Glens Falls.

Kimi Hastings made 13 saves for the Huskies.
