H.S. Golf Roundup: Canajoharie golfers defeat Fort Plain

CANAJOHARIE — Derek Countryman finished with a 46 to lead Canajoharie to a 9-6 victory over Fort Plain in a Western Athletic Conference golf match at Canajoharie Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.

Aidan O’Neil posted a 47 for the Cougars, while Jacob Montanye had a 49. Kyle Oertel and Tyler Christman each had rounds of 50 for Canajoharie, while Mike Tiberio added a 52.

Jacob Hazlett posted a 43 to lead Fort Plain, while Brady Fureno and Taylor Gifford each had rounds of 46. Zackarie Young had a 62 for the Hilltoppers, Zachery Rogers had a 63 and Damien Young carded a 70.

Canajoharie finished with a 192-197 advantage in the overall total.

Duanesburg 15, Northville/Mayfield 0

NORTHVILLE — John Grant and Dylan Carlson each carded rounds of 42 to lead Duanesburg to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Northville/Mayfield at Sacandaga Golf Club on Monday.

Cormac Marz posted a 55 for the Eagles, while Tommy Casale added a 57.

Owen Mormile posted a 51 to lead Northville/Mayfield, while Gavin Bown posted a 60. James DeRonda had a 62 for Northville/Mayfield and George Abdella posted a 66.

Galway 11, Fonda-Fultonville 4

GALWAY — Ryan Lovelass finished with a 38 to lead Galway to a WAC victory over Fonda-Fultonville at Pioneer Hills.

Nick Zuk carded a 45 for the Golden Eagles, while Josh Lovelass added a 51.

Matt Zumbolo led FFCS with a 49, while Max Shirley and Al Mancini each had rounds of 57.

On Monday, Fonda-Fultonville swept Schoharie, 15-0.

FFCS finished with a 204-247 in the overall total.

Max Shirley led the Braves with 48.
