Several area softball players named Foothills Council all-stars

Several area players were among those named to the Foothills Council softball all-star team.

Nicole DeRose, Gianna Quatrini and Emma Patrei all were named second-team all-stars for Amsterdam, while Megan LaMont and Karly Power were named honorable mention.

Gloversville’s Jen Vickery was named a second-team all-star.

South Glens Falls’ Maddy Capozucca was named the Foothills Council Most Valuable Player and one of the league’s four Section II all-stars. Schuylerville’s Lauren Kelleher, Hudson Falls’ Kate LaPan and South Glens Falls’ Amber Bourdeau also were named Section II all-stars.

South Glens Falls, which won the North Division and Foothills Council overall titles, had Emily Joss, Sarah Powers, Celyna Shaw and Leah Vanderwarker named first-team all-stars.

Schuylerville’s Caitlin Kelleher, Hunter VanArnum and Emily Vallee were named to the first team, while Scotia-Glenville’s Kelly Mayette and Lauren Zeglen earned first-team honors.

Rounding out the first-team selections were Glens Falls’ Taylor Scarincio, Hudson Falls’ Kierra McCarthy, Queensbury’s Ashley Rosario and Hudson Falls’ Bre MacDuff.

In addition to its first-team selections, South Glens Falls had Hannah Mosher, Haylee Scarincio and Kasen Lemay named to the second team.

Also named to the second team were Glens Falls’ Stephanie Meehan and Abby Marshall; Hudson Falls’ Taylor Ringer and Grace Davis; Queensbury’s Justice Colvin; Schuylerville’s Teagan Andrews; and Scotia-Glenville’s Grace Purvis and Naudia Smith.

South Glens Falls’ Caroline Kimmell, Calijah Howk and Emily McCarty were named honorable mention, while Glens Falls had Callie Woodall, Haylee LeFebvre and Brianna Blake earn honorable-mention status.

Rounding out the honorable-mention selections were Hudson Falls’ Maddie Akins; Queensbury’s Karley Hertzner, Megan McCane, Jasmin Pepe; and Schuylerville’s Grace Pelletier-Hoblock.
