JOHNSTOWN — The Greater Johnstown School District athletic department and Purple and Gold Club hosted its 10th annual senior athlete banquet June 5 at the Winner’s Circle.

Bob Wager was the guest speaker. Wager is a 1988 Johnstown High School graduate, a three-sport captain in football, swim and track. He graduated from Springfield College and played running back. He later became the assistant coach at Springfield College, Carter Junior High School and Arlington Sam Houston High School in Texas. Wager also served as head coach and athletic director at Tolar, Groveton, Kaufman, and Martin High Schools in Texas. He also was the all-time winningest coach in Martin High School history. Wager also coached Myles Garrett, No. 1 pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
