DeSorbo places 41st at state tournament

ITHACA — Fonda-Fultonville’s Adam DeSorbo finished 41st at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Boys Golf Championships on Monday at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell University.

DeSorbo carded an 83 in Sunday’s first round and finished with a 78 in Monday’s final round for a two-day total of 161.

Somers’ Nathan Han edged Manhasset’s Adam Xiao on the third playoff hole after both finished their two rounds tied at 146.

Pittsford Sutherland’s Danny Gianniny was third with a 147, Victor’s Christian Chapman was fourth with a 149 and Susquehanna Valley’s D.J. Griffiths was fifth with a 150.

Section V won the team title with a total of 1,078. Section VIII (1,087) was second and Section I (1,088) was third. Section II was ninth with a total of 1,167.

Bethlehem’s Austin Fox led Section II golfers, placing 10th with a total of 152.

Bethlehem’s Ryan Davis was 48th with a total of 162 and Guilderland’s Will Burger was 77th with a total of 173.

Other Section II competitors included Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake’s Christian Gramuglia (83rd, 175), Queensbury’s Noah Bonn (83rd, 175), Shaker’s Madison Brayman (86th, 176), Albany Academy’s Ryan Warnick (90th, 180) and Ichabod Crane’s Trevor Wolfe (93rd, 184).
