H.S. Softball Roundup: Duanesburg slips past FFCS, 3-2

DUANESBURG — Alexa Lombardoni delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Duanesburg to a 3-2 victory over Fonda-Fultonville in a Western Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday.

Lombardoni also earned the win, allowing seven hits and striking out 14.

Morgan Hoffman had two singles, a double and an RBI for Duanesburg (4-0 WAC), while Emily Lenehan added an RBI single.

Brianne Egelston finished with a double and two singles for Fonda-Fultonville (0-3 overall, 0-3 WAC).

Fort Plain 17, Schoharie 1

FORT PLAIN — Michaela Stockwell allowed five hits and struck out six for Fort Plain as the Lady Hilltoppers defeated Schoharie in five innings in a Western Athletic Conference softball game at the Fort Plain Sports Complex.

Stockwell also two singles and three runs scored at the plate for Fort Plain, while Alexis Hagadorn drove in five runs with a double and a single. Sierra Logan drove in three runs with a triple and a double, while Amber Douglas had three singles, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Brianna Readdean, Makayla Williams, Caroline Wetsel, Abigail Wetsel and Alexis Borst all singled for Schoharie’s hits.

Fort Plain (4-0 overall, 3-0 WAC) is scheduled to travel to Middleburgh on Friday for an 11 a.m. contest.

BROADALBIN — Lauren Kelleher and Emily Vallee each went 4-for-5 to lead Schuylerville to a Foothills Council victory over Broadalbin-Perth.

Vallee had a double, home run and three RBIs for the Black Horses.

Caitlin Kelleher had a single, double, triple and three RBIs for Schuylerville (4-2 overall, 4-1 Foothills), while Hunter VanArnum had a home run and a triple. Hannah Klingebiel added a single, two doubles and five RBIs for the Black Horses.

Broadalbin-Perth (0-5 overall, 0-5 Foothills) was scheduled to travel to Hudson Falls on Friday for a noon contest, but opted to forfeit the game.

AMSTERDAM — Kelly Mayette pitched a no-hitter to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council South Division victory over Amsterdam at Shuttleworth Park.

Mayette, who struck out 18, also had a pair of two-run singles for the Tartans.

Lauren Zeglen added two doubles for Scotia-Glenville (6-1 overall, 5-1 Foothills).

Amsterdam (3-5 overall, 2-3 Foothills) is scheduled to travel to South Glens Falls on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. game.

QUEENSBURY — Ashley Rosario had a single, two triples, two runs scored and two RBIs to help Queensbury post a Foothills Council North Division victory over Hudson Falls.

Kiley King was 2-for-3 for the Spartans, while Karley Hertzner had three RBIs. Jasmin Pepe added two RBIs for Queensbury, which improved to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in Foothills Council play.

Kierra McCarthy, Maddie Akins and Taylor Ringer all had two hits for Hudson Falls (4-2 Foothills), while Kate LaPan had a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Naesha Kelley added two RBIs and two runs scored for the Tigers and Bre MacDuff had three RBIs.
