Braves knock Duanesburg from unbeaten ranks, 17-2

DUANESBURG — The Fonda-Fultonville Braves connected for three home runs as they handed Duanesburg its first loss of the season with a 17-2 victory Thursday at Duanesburg High School.

Christian Cary, Cade Kearns and Dan Parslow all homered for Fonda-Fultonville as the Braves improved to 2-1 in the Western Athletic Conference and 3-3 overall. Duanesburg drops to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the WAC.

Cary and kearns also connected for singles, while Parslow added two singles and six RBIs and struck out eight batters in five innings or work on the mound. Jackson Simpson was 2-for-3 for the Braves with a double and a single, while Luke Neff had two singles and Massimo DiCaprio doubled.

Matt Gamache doubled and Zack Gamache singled to account for Duanesburg’s two hits.

Hoosic Valley 5, Gloversville 1

GLOVERSVILLE — Hoosic Valley made the most of a pair of errors to score five runs in the top of the third and take home the non-league victory from Husky Field Thursday.

Blake Weingert led Hoosic Valley with a double and a single to go with an RBI and run scored. Brandon Haughney also doubled and Tom Madigan tripled for the Indians.

Aaron Dona singled and stole home in the first inning to account for Gloversville’s run. Trevor Mee doubled for the Huskies, while Anthony Ponticello and Bubby Royal added singles.

Gloversville (3-3 overall, 3-2 Foothills) is scheduled to host Johnstown (1-5 overall, 1-5 Foothills) at 7 p.m. tonight at Husky Field.

REMSEN — Dylan Walrath threw a one-hitter, doubled and singled, drove in two and scored twice to lead Dolgeville to victory Thursday.

Jacob Farquhar collected two RBIs for the Blue Devils as did Jimmy Baisley.

Jacob Rowlands collected Remsen’s lone hit.
