JOHNSTOWN — The Greater Johnstown School District physical education department hosted its annual foul shooting contest for students in third through sixth grade at Warren Street Elementary School on March 11.

As part of physical education classes at Glebe Street and Warren Street, students participated in a basketball unit, learning the fundamentals of basketball and participating in a foul shooting contest with their classmates.

The winners of the class contests were then invited to compete in a district contest at Warren Street on March 11.

Approximately 70 students competed in the district contest. The winners made anywhere from five to nine out of 10 foul shots.

This year’s winners were: Baylee Cooper and Cole Downing (third grade); Casey Lamori and Devin Ward (fourth grade); Isabell Ropeter and Kaden Chittenden (fifth grade); Ayaka Sasaki and Branden Jones (sixth grade).
