Several Johnstown High School student-athletes were honored for their efforts during the winter sports season.

Alayna Gray of the nordic ski team and Molly Lake of the alpine ski team were alternates for the Section II state meet team. Matthew Boyle and Benjamin Wager, from the boys basketball team, were named Foothills Council all-stars, while Claire Guzielek (first-team South Division) and Chelsea Cirillo (honorable mention), of the girls basketball team, also were honored.

From the bowling team, Ethan Hadcock (honorable mention) and John Vietri (sportsmanship) earned Foothills Council honors.

Na’jon Subik (first team – 220 pounds) and Jared Ercolino (second team – 182) were named Foothills Council wrestling all-stars.

From the boys swim team, Trevor Askew was a first-team Foothills Council all-star in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley. Askew also was part of the 200 medley relay team and 400 freestyle relay teams that earned honorable-mention status. Askew was joined by Kaleb Sluti, Kaden Sluti and Jacob Petrie in the 200 medley relay, and Kaden Sluti, Kaleb Sluti and Tyler Benton in the 400 freestyle relay. Kaden Sluti also was named honorable mention in the 100 butterfly. Askew also was first at the Section II Division 2 meet in the 200 individual medley and second in the 100 breaststroke.
