Girls bowling teams compete at sectionals
SCHENECTADY — The Fonda-Fultonville, Canajoharie, Mayfield and Fort Plain girls bowling team competed at the Section II Championships at Boulevard Bowl on Wednesday.
In the Class B Tournament, Fonda-Fultonville placed fifth with a total of 3,569 pins. Lansingburgh won the team title with a total of 5,006 pins, while Cohoes (4.871) was second.
Lansingburgh’s Katie Lynch had the high triple with a 640, while Schalmont’s Rebecca LaBelle had the high game with a 244.
Dakota Livingston had a high game of 154 and a six-game total of 850, while Angelique LaFreniere had a high game of 151 and a six-game total of 808.
Canajoharie finished fifth in the Class C team standings with a total of 3,920 pins. Mayfield was seventh with a total of 3,772 and Fort Plain was eighth with a total of 3,737.
Mechanicville won the Class C team title with a total of 4,759 pins, while Middleburgh (4,592) was second.
Mechanicville’s Kate Bee had the high triple with a 615, while Middleburgh’s Jaidyn Rose had the high game with a 245.
Canajoharie’s Amy Reedy rolled the third-highest triple with a 534 in the afternoon session. She also posted a 491 in the morning session to finish with a total of 1,025 pins. Canajoharie’s Kiara Putnam had a 530 in the morning and a 400 in the afternoon for a total of 930.
Fort Plain’s Gabby Jenks had the second-highest game of the day with a 218.
In the Class A Tournament, Colonie won the team title with a total of 5,705 pins. Bethlehem (5,532) was second and Columbia (5,135) was third.
Colonie’s Amanda Chrzanowski had the high triple with a 653, while Bethlehem’s Jenna Lemke posted the high game with a 279.
Colonie advanced to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Bowling Championships along with the all-section team comprised of Lansingburgh’s Katie Lynch (1,263), Bethlehem’s Melanie Lemke (1,231) and Bethlehem’s Jenna Lemke (1,218), Saratoga Springs’ Mikayla Barbolt (1,187) of Saratoga Springs, Mechanicville’s Abby Carola (1,177) and Mohonasen’s Elizabeth Ross (1,176).
The boys Section II Class B tournament will take place today at Boulevard Bowl.
