Boys Basketball Roundup: Taylor scores 1,000th point in B-P victory

HUDSON FALLS — Broadalbin-Perth’s Preston Taylor finished with 19 points to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 47-38 victory over Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council boys basketball crossover game Monday.

Taylor’s effort also pushed him past the 1,000-point mark for his career. The senior guard now has 1,008 career points for the Patriots.

J.P. Person scored nine points for B-P (13-7 overall, while Troy Monroe added eight points.

Brady Hayes scored 13 points to lead Hudson Falls, while Cameron Jett added nine points.

B-P now awaits the pairings for the Section II Class B Tournament, which will be announced Wednesday.

SCHUYLERVILLE — Stratton Sherman finished with 19 points to lead Schuylerville to a victory over Gloversville in a Foothills Council crossover game.

The Black Horses trailed 33-19 at the half before outscoring the Dragons 35-19 after the break to earn the victory.

Nicholas Budesheim had 16 points for Schuylerville.

Dante Bouchard scored 15 points to lead Gloversville, while Anderson Jones and Joseph Rowback each had 12 points.

Gloversville (7-13 overall) now awaits the pairings for the Section II Class A Tournament, which will be announced Wednesday.

SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Ben Wager finished with 19 points to lead Johnstown to a victory over South Glens Falls in a Foothills Council crossover game.

The Sir Bills outscored the Bulldogs 11-6 in the final quarter to rally from a 39-35 deficit.

Matthew Boyle scored 11 points for Johnstown.

Lucas Anastasia had 12 points for South Glens Falls.

Johnstown (7-13 overall) now awaits the pairings for the Section II Class B Tournament, which will be announced Wednesday.

Sean Degraffenreid finished with five 3-pointers on his way to a 29-point effort for the Tartans, while Trevor Martin had four 3-pointers and 16 points.

Christian Corker added 14 points for Scotia-Glenville.

Queensbury finished with 13 3-pointers of its own as Joseph Rodriguez hit two trifectas on his way to a team-high 15 points.

Devin O’Leary had 12 points for the Spartans, while Riley Orr and Jeffrey Van Anden each had 11 points. Orr and Van Anden each had three 3-points for Queensbury.

Justin Foster added 15 points for Wells (9-9 overall, 7-6 MVAC).

Jim Morris scored 11 points to lead Johnsburg, while Justin Schmale added 10 points.
