Area bowlers compete at sectionals

SCHENECTADY — The Canajoharie, Fort Plain, Mayfield and Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville boys bowling teams competed at the Section II Class C/D Tournament at Boulevard Bowl on Tuesday.

Mechanicville won the team title with a total of 5,732 pins, while Middleburgh (5,498) was second and Stillwater (5,394) was third.

Fort Plain (5,228) was sixth, Canajoharie (5,008) was seventh, Mayfield (4,862) was 13th and Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville (4,074) was 23rd.

Jimmy Fiaschetti led Canajoharie with a 556 series in the morning session and a 544 series in the afternoon session to finish with a six-game total of 1,110.

Cian DiMezza posted a total of 1,035 pins, finishing with a 518 series in the morning and a 517 series in the afternoon.

Stillwater’s Britaney Myers and Maple Hill’s Austin Bardin shared high game honors with a 265.

Whitehall’s Adrien Hollister had the high series with a 675.
