JOHNSTOWN — Two students of the American Zen Do Kai Martial Arts School, located at 490 N. Perry St, recently competed at the North East Open tournament in Albany.

Blake Blessing, an advanced adult student, earned gold in form, weapons and sparring.

Ian Horning, an intermediate junior student, earned gold in self-defense, sparring, weapons and bronze in forms.

Both students did an outstanding job and had the opportunity to meet some new friends.

They also were impressed by other various martial arts that were new to them.

American Zen Do Kai Martial Arts School would also like to thank Tyler Downing, an intermediate student, for helping Ian Horning during the self-defense part of the tournament.

Their instructors, Mr. and Mrs. Streeter are very proud of their abilities and their dedication to training at the American Zen Do Kai.

Their three-year old sibling, Samantha, has just joined the Little Ninja program and we are happy to have her as our newest student.

The ZDK Johnstown students compete in several area martial arts tournaments each year as well as performing community services.
