Expansion of government intrusion into our lives must be resisted at every turn. If you want to lower the crime rate in Gloversville don't install cameras. Slash taxes and bring in some businesses that will install jobs. Your city, county, and state government have been strangling the area to death slowly for the last 50 years. The last gasps are being breathed (when the library funding is in question you know the city is almost dead). What will you do to reverse it? Will you vote for more government and the burden it brings or will you vote out all the people who have created the problem?

The jewelry store in G'ville a month ago had video camers and a clear shot of the perp. Where is he now??? It doesn't deter crime in the least and rarely helps solve it.

"The streets of our country are in turmoil. The universities are filled with students rebelling and rioting. Communists are seeking to destroy our country. Russia is threatening us with her might, and the Republic is in danger. Yes - danger from within and without. We need law and order! Without it our nation cannot survive." –Adolf Hitler

We’re sorry, the policeman is busy now, your crime will be recorded after the tone, please look into the camera and commit your crime. Your event is important to us, please remain on the scene and the policeman will respond to your event in the order it was received… Please say or shout “ONE” for English, “DOSE” for Spanish and “HUNH?” for Gloversvilleian… BEEP

No way.all this does is put more burden on the tax payers.price of equipment, upkeep, and manpower is a staggering cost with no guarantee of ever being useful in any crime prevention.lets use the resources we have.we have a police department that should get out of the seat and walk a beat!presense of law officers is an excellent crime deterrent and a quality officer can see far more than any camera can show you.what do you see when you watch the news,a blurry picture of the man who just robbed or stole something wearing a hoodie and dark glasses.that is almost useless if you ask me.
