Maybe it the theme who cares. How many times Have the people of Fulton County seen a company come in talk a big talk and leave. Oh we are going to provide 100 jobs or 150 jobs. Yeah right!. The ones that do come in pay is so low. Before any new business comes here, have a starting wage so ppl can live on. Lets face it they come to Fulton county because they know they can offer low wages to a depressed county

Maybe it isn't "who cares" but "what difference does our opinions make" -- it seems the powers of the community do not listen anyhow.

Puh-leez! Why spend $100,000? IF any business can be coaxed to locate here by time-limited tax incentives, they usually pack up and leave as soon as the tax incentive expires! Leaving this area with more economic chaos. NYS taxes are too high, heating costs are too high, and a good, willing work force is hard to come by in this area--so why would a business want to come here?

EDC is for bringing business to the area. Johnstown does well in bringing new business to the area. I would like to see the tax dollar being used for something that will bring jobs and money into the area. I do not like seeing tax dollars being used to purchase a "Part-time Mayor" a vehicle. Wise spending is good, useless spending is bad.

Where will this money come from? Until the tax situation is favorable to businesses, giving breaks will last for as long as the perks are given. Permanent tax breaks are the solution.

The best and most effective way of creating a climate in which commerce thrives is to slash taxes to the bone. Unless this is done, the proposed $100,000 EDC will serve as the equivalent of totally ineffective porkbarreling. Fulton County already has far too high an unnecessary burden in the form of "mandates" imposed by NY State.
