I guess these people wont be...

The number of Americans who are 16 years or older and who have decided not to participate in the nation's labor force has climbed to a record 90,609,000 in September, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Health plans are sending hundreds of thousands of cancellation letters to people who buy their own coverage, frustrating some consumers who want to keep what they have and forcing others to buy more costly policies.

The main reason insurers offer is that the policies fall short of what the Affordable Care Act requires starting Jan. 1. Most are ending policies sold after the law passed in March 2010. At least a few are canceling plans sold to people with pre-existing medical conditions.

I don't do what the voices in my head tell me to, but sometimes they have some great ideas.

Still talking to the voices in your head? Ask them why, if welfare is such a success under Obama... why the numbers are going up instead of down... a quandary to ponder inside your own mind!

What's it like to live in fear and worried about what's going to happen next, loyal? What are you afraid of? You're sitting in the comfort of America where you can freely criticize or promote any ideology you want but instead you waste your time on stupid equivocations. Go live in a Socialist Country THEN tell us about it rather than speaking without any knowledge of what your talking about. You truly are one of the 'low information' Americans that infest our society. Catch up, can you?

One thing I didn't plan on after retirement was all these doctor visits. Last time I went to the doctor he told me it was time for my annual "check up" and he proceeded to put on the examination glove. I told him while he was at it to see if he could find my TV's remote control because it was lost, we tore the house apart looking for it, and my wife said it was probably right where he was about to look.

and Hill - it takes me all night long to do what I used to do all night long. I may not be as good as I once was but I'm as good once as I ever was.

Trust me. I would move to Canada in a heartbeat, but my family keeps me here. Look, I love this country, but absolutely hate the current government. It no longer represents the will of the people. The people do not choose to spend billions on military & defense. The greased palms of congress and the wealthy fat cats make those decisions. It is the biggest waste of money, other than the "war" on drugs. Our gov't CHOOSES to hand our military to these countries, and they obviously benefit with superior education and social programs. Also, they do what they can to stay out of conflicts. Why can't we just do the same? Why do we continue to think we are the superior nation that needs to throw our influence around the world? The faster we figure out that we are no longer #1, the faster we can regain our economy and resources. ***drops mic*** I'm out!

Hill and MrBoB, all you have stated is true, but look at it from the other side. Retirement is not easy, never a day off, no paid holidays, no vacation, retired. I was tired yesterday and I'm tired again today.

And by the way: All the "great" countries you talk about have a lot of good social programs. You want to know why? Since the good old USA spends countless billions on Defense they don't have to. Do you think for 1 minute that they are not aware that the USA would "not allow" their country to fall?

Ugh... the ignorance is amazing around "dem' parts". Funny how a DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTIC government works just fine with our neighbors to the North and in Scandinavia. Low unemployment, highest levels of education, basic health care for all, highest overall happiness, etc. Pfft... who would want all that when you can live like a true American, always in fear and worried about what will happen next? Luckily, the regressives will continue to die off while we try to clean up their messes.

BoB; "Ahhh retirement..when every day is Saturday.".... and, every night is Friday night. I used to go out to the bars at about 10PM on a Friday night. Now I'm usually "baggin' ZZZZZs" in my easy chair by 10PM. It used to take 3-4 beers to start getting happy. Now it takes just one to start getting sleepy.

The way things are going is, the government is going to commandeer my retirement and tell me to jump on some program they administer. That way the non working/saving class can have all the benifits they dont deserve. Just like the healthcare act!

Uh, nice try comrade loyal...socialists don't clean up messes. They make them and walk away, like the trash you just threw out. Then normal people have always had to clean up after them.

I don't PLAN on it, but the way things are going, who knows. My wife and I have never even considered Social Security into our retirement plans. We know that by time we retire (the retirement age will probably be over 70)we will never see any SS payments, even though we paid into it. We are already paying the price for past mistakes this country has made and the complete disregard for the future. My generation is now attempting to clean up the mess left from years of sending jobs overseas, destroying the environment, and ignoring the working low and middle classes.

Ahhh retirement..when every day is Saturday. Every BBQ is a feast, every day is grandparents day and every pension, retirement and dividend check is a fortune. Retirement is what you make it and as Laker pointed out, we've earned the perks that go with it. The odd thing is, after working my butt off what seems like forever the hardest thing to learn is how to relax without feeling guilty about it. I'm sure some of you know what I mean.
