Interesting how a right wing newspaper readership blames Democrats the least

I was surprised they even had an "all of the above" option!

"All of the above" is the only true answer. -- the rest allow for party loyalty and absolution for the messiah

The big mistake here is not having a "none of the above" option." There are NEVER just three possible answers to most question! I think it's time they hired someone new to run this poll section - all it does is allow the same handful of people to have an outlet to vent their anger. Also the agree/disagree click-ons need to be discontinued; it doesn't matter how many people agree or disagree - what matters is that each individual has a right as an American to express their viewpoint.

How about blaming the clueless among us who can't imagine living their lives without the government managing us? Like some of the people who post here who would gladly trade freedom for free stuff.

I suggest that those that believe this poll shows a favorable edge to democrats, you may want to add the president and the democrat numbers together to get the real on the spot answer to who is at fault. 30% say democrats are at fault, 22% republicans and 48% really do not know what is going on. All this government shutdown is over is the individual mandate and the removal of a proposition within the law that many democrats want removed. It is Obama and Reid that will not negotiate... they OWN this shutdown and they are going to lose. America is again going to lose because Obama cannot concede anything, he will NOT negotiate. He is the impediment to this process.

There is nothing for Obama and the Democrats to negotiate. The Affordable Care Act was passed four years ago by another Congress and found to be Constitutional by SCOTUS. It has it's own taxes to fund it, and so isn't part of the federal operating budget. House Republicans need to stop the shut down and pass the budget.

TOT- polls show 70% of Americans blame Republicans for the shut down.

OK TOT, let me put this in terms that MAYBE you can understand. We have an election and something YOU want gets passed into law, then four years after that I DECIDE II want you to negotiate with me over this so I can get something I want....what is your response?

Hey TOT, quick question....if republicans are not to blame for the shutdown why are they all over tv today "Defending THEIR decision to shut down the government"? those are Their words, not mine......

Dave, IF you are the same guy that recently posted on FB the 9+ minute video that your apparent buddy Barry Soetoro had banned, did you post it as an example of how some people lie or was that a truthful moment??? There are too many documented facts for that to be bogus.

Have you bought your prayer rug and Koran yet?????

All I want to know is why is it fair for all the special exemptions for big business, big government, and big labor? If it is bad for them then it must be bad for me. My only mistake is I wanted to work for myself. What a dummy.

So you guys are saying that Obamacare is perfect, there is no need to change it and that laws are never repealed? Now I understand why progressives drive the democrat party... you need guidance!

TOT - My only point is that since the Affordable Care Act has its own taxes, it is not part of the federal operating budget, just like Social Security and Medicare are not part of the operating budget. Holding up the budget process and shutting down the government over a law that has no part in the budget is simply wrong.

And no, the ACA isn't perfect. If it was, Medicare would be an option on the health exchanges.

If this was done properly, there would not be this animosity now. The divider in chief has done a great job of making us fight. This is not going to go away. It was done in a partisan way and it will not stand. If there can be no discussion what is the endgame here? Where do you see this getting resolved? Total collapse of one side or the other? I do not think so... it has always taken two to tango and this is a one sided dance step!

So dave tell me where did you find that LIBERAL poll? "TOT- polls show 70% of Americans blame Republicans for the shut down." I believe that the ones that voted that way are not smart enough to understand the topic.

I love the fact that people claim we can't blame both parties. Yes we can! Neither does anything worth while and always are fast to blame the other one. IF one party was better than the other then why do they keep losing the white house? Obamacare was CRAMMED down the throats of the American public by the clowns still in office! It's cheaper for someone to pay the monthly fine ($70)then to pay the monthly fee and then have to deal with the HUGE deductible!

About the second day in a row that the exchanges are failing to produce the desired results... The bumpy debut has the hallmarks of a technology project that may have rushed to meet the Oct. 1 deadline, said Bill Curtis, chief scientist at CAST, a software quality analysis firm, and director of the Consortium for IT Software Quality, which develops standards.

"When you are in a rush, you typically make a lot of mistakes and you don't have time to test them all out," he said. THE SAME CAN BE SAID ABOUT THE ENTIRE OBAMACARE LAW!

The real question is how many politicians have a financial interest in the health insurance industry? Just like those that profit from the HIGH fuel prices!

If the Republicans are to 'blame' for shutting down govt then let THEM fix it. The Govt was shut down 8 times under Reagan and I do not recall Tip O'Neill being called an anarchist. It's sadly interesting to see how many Americans are being duped into the blame game and not paying attention to the other hands being played out right under our noses.

JohnSteady, do YOU have a 401k or other type of Fund driven retirement plan? If you do then YOU are profiting from Big Insurance and Big Oil and anything 'Big' you're invested in. Me, I look forward to those quarterly statements showing my investments in Big America is producing results for me. Are you so disappointed when that happens that you send your profits to the Govt or give them away??? Libs love railing against corporate profits as if there are 5 people getting massively wealthy when in fact it's all of us, including libs who have retirement programs that help ensure financial stability. Libs do NOT like that idea either but are not willing to drop out of THEIR investment programs. Why is that???
