Sorry, that's "staunch"..... I don't want to be accused of being grammatically stupid for fear that TOT thinks I've joined her parties ranks.

for clarity, from now on when I use the word "we" it does not include MrBob. I forgot Bob is such a staunt supporter of TOT. My apologies
Isn't this a little behind the times? Didn't Fulton County stop paying so that why the office moved out of Fulton county and into Montgomery County? Any program worthwhile gets ax'd for something that some bonehead elected official can line their pockets with. $80,000 /year coffee clerk for the BOS buys his buddies whatever they want. Remember the $600.00 Throne so some "Director" can park his butt in it all day next to a scanner that was a total waste of money. Read the Budget, see where jonny is spending your tax dollars instead of tightening the spending belt.

TOT "I have decided to stop trying to explain myself to stupid people, I am not a jack*** wisperer!"
We all agree you're no whisperer...but the rest of the statement we all believe is true if you drop the "not" and the "whisperer"

CCE provides much more than learning about animals. Funds for these programs come from many sources, Fed. Govt't (USDA), State Gov't, Cornell University, County funding and local fundraising like the Tractor Supply Cloverleafs. It provides growth and knowledge and independence for our youth in many areas as appleaday alluded to. That being said a better question would be 'should Ful/Mont Counties stop funding for DSS'... which accomplishes nothing in the arena of independence, growth and knowledge.

This subject does mean a lot to the many young people that have gained valuable skills while being a part of our local 4-H programs. I hope our area can continue to fund something that is actually helping our youth get involved in becoming a positive citizen. It's far more than just agricultural education. For example, my daughter was the state champion at the 4-H Public Speaking Competition held at Cornell University. I hope we will continue to support our youth, as the other counties in NY have.

ToT just likes attention. Most of the time ToT lacks common sense.

the C.C.E. COULD and should be doing alot more... (example) a C.C.E. rep goes to little johnny's school to serve his pitch. BUT, lil johnny's dad has been around a bit, and has allready educated the young lad... and that lesson went like this... Jr. don't you ever let me catch you working for less than min. wage....... so there goes the efforts of the C.C.E. especially when the dirt bag makes in a month what the farmers he/she represents makes in a year....
save this lesson for future use. it will apply to so many life-situations....
T.o.T.... why do you complain so much about the Gvt. stoping public services? why does it matter to you? do ya ever get up from your Computer? and that's the reason we see these closings. who's outdoors nowday's?

This topic is dull. We need some spark... some fireworks to get people (sheeple) to see that our country is being driven off the tracks. I say let the freedom ring! Lets start to get our country into some hands that is representative of who we truly are. A nation of hard working people that do not want to support the lazy or corrupt any longer! And yes I admit that I hijacked this topic, we are on to better and much more important subjects now!

A Treasury Department official who declined to be named confirmed to MailOnline on Tuesday that the Obama administration will not begin enforcing employer mandates in the Obamacare law until 2015 - one year later than originally planned - and pinned that change of direction on a combination of politics and economic realities in the marketplace. The revised timetable, the source added, will also push back the final implementation of Obamacare's penalties past the 2014 midterm elections, providing Republicans fewer chances to highlight the law's potentially harmful effects on businesses' bottom lines.

State Department officials spent $630,000 to get more Facebook "likes," prompting employees to complain to a government watchdog that the bureau was "buying fans" in social media, the agency's inspector general says.
The department's Bureau of International Information Programs spent the money to increase its "likes" count between 2011 and March 2013.
"Many in the bureau criticize the advertising campaigns as 'buying fans' who may have once clicked on an ad or 'liked' a photo but have no real interest in the topic and have never engaged further," the inspector general reported.

One can surely say that with furloughs of military personnel, canceling the fireworks or Navy bands might seem like the least painful budget choice. But wait a minute. How many defense insiders in Washington continue to proceed in comfort without limitation while the families of our fighting men and women at our military installations can’t have Fourth of July fireworks?
Don’t forget that The Washington Post recently reported that the Obamas’ trip to Africa in the week just before July 4 could cost what they called a “kingly sum,” anywhere from $60 million to $100 million.

Some installations are closing their outdoor swimming pools altogether, while many others are reducing hours or opening fewer days each week.
The pools and water parks are typically open to active-duty personnel, family members, military retirees, Defense Department civilians and their guests. The costs can range from free to just a few dollars. The cutbacks are one tangible way the automatic spending cuts are affecting the broader military community.

Howland and Portnoy nailed this topic. Lets move on to why the president gets a 100 million dollar vacation and our troops do not get to have fireworks? Or why we cannot afford to have Whitehouse tours but we can send military aid and weaponry to muslim countries?
