It, no matter how it started has many virtues that I believe merit our support no matter what political party you belong to. First rein in government waste. It is rampant, brought to a head by our very own Chuck Schumer with his "special deals" to buy his healthcare bills passage. Second, get rid of the electoral college, why shouldn't every single Americans vote count? No matter who it is for it should be cast for that candidate and no one else should receive credit for a vote that was cast for another. There are those that want to warp the message that the Tea party wants to send but the message is pure, it is honest and deserves our support. Member CommentsTiredOfTaxRep. Joe Walsh(Tea Party-Ill.) is one of eight congressmen who signed a letter to House Speaker John Boehner, requesting that their surplus office allocation be sent back to the Treasury, to pay down the national debt. Calling it a “Gift to Reduce the Debt Held by the Public,” the congressmen told Boehner they “have accumulated more than $1.4 million in unused personal office funding; we believe this funding must be used immediately to address the fiscal emergency caused by our ever increasing national debt. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: The requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree besides the river of truth, and tell the whole world----no, YOU move." Captain America... I would not endorse your chosen tea partiers for president, but I do believe that a beginning to cleaning up the mess that has become the normal in DC is long overdue. Now if you want to talk real presidential candidates How about Mike Huckabee and Michele Bachmann? I believe they could make some changes that I would get behind! Posted 439 days ago. laker88If you think things couldn't get any worse, how about the Tea Party dream ticket: Pres. Sarah Palin, Vice Pres. Christine O'Donnell !! No thanks Posted 440 days ago. TiredOfTaxI believe that the vote that is cast should go to the person intended, is the only fair way that will work. The electoral collage was formed to ensure educated elections took place as the country was so large that it took forever to get the information to all of the people. I do not believe that is an issue any longer. You are 100% correct on the entitlements and those will be under the microscope for corruption but how can you call for honesty when you are throwing taxpayer dollars into the fan? I say clean up the act entirely. Posted 460 days ago. GoGiants1.) The fiscal problem stems from entitlements, not discretionary spending, making it much harder to rein in spending. 2.) You do realize that ending the Electoral College would have a huge negative impact on small states where the Tea Party is most likely to win? States like Wyoming have a disproportionate share of the Electoral College vote. Posted 460 days ago. Post a Comment |
