Automatic Budget cuts

The failure of Congress' so-called "supercommittee" to come up with at least $1.2 trillion in savings means automatic cuts of more than $1 trillion next January to defense and domestic programs. This will trigger federal layoffs that will cripple our military and many of the social programs that Americans depend on. How is all of that overspending this current president working for you? Is this the change that you were looking for? Do you feel we need 4 more years of divisive and partisan politics?

If they do this and work it as best they can most people may never see the cuts effects. This is actually one of Obama's greatest achievements, I believe that the cuts are unproportionately in the democrats favor and now that he has committed to the fiscal cliff happening and the republicans to blame he may just come out of this with his best showing to date. After all it was all his idea!

White House press secretary Jay Carney shifted position and accepted sequester paternity.

“The sequester was something that was discussed,” Carney said. Walking back the earlier statements, he added carefully, “and as has been reported, it was an idea that the White House put forward.”

This was an acknowledgment that the president and Lew had been wrong.

Can you hear me now???

White House press secretary Jay Carney shifted position and accepted sequester paternity.

This was an acknowledgment that the president and Lew had been wrong.

In fact, the final deal reached between Vice President Biden and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in 2011 included an agreement that there would be no tax increases in the sequester in exchange for what the president was insisting on: an agreement that the nation’s debt ceiling would be increased for 18 months, so Obama would not have to go through another such negotiation in 2012, when he was running for reelection.
