WESTFIELD, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a public services superintendent for a western New York community has been electrocuted while trying to move a low-hanging live wire.

Troopers say 62-year-old William Boneberg was working on Route 20 in the Chautauqua County town of Westfield early Saturday afternoon when a live electric line broke, fell and landed on him.

Boneberg was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner. Police say his death has been ruled accidental.

Boneberg was the head of Westfield Electric, which provides electric service to the village and town of Westfield, 50 miles southwest of Buffalo.
