AMSTERDAM - City police said a man arrested on a warrant Wednesday had about $1,500 in cocaine and crack.
Gabriel Gonzalez, 28, last known address of 22 Bunn St., apartment 1, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, on the arrest warrant and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
Police said officers executed the arrest warrant and parole absconder warrant for Gonzalez on Wednesday.
Gonzalez is suspected of drug sales that have occurred in the city over a five-month period, police said.
Detectives received information Gonzalez was frequenting the Impala Club, located on East Main Street, police said. Detectives and patrol officers conducted surveillance of the club and saw Gonzalez leaving the establishment, police said.
Gonzalez was apprehended a short time later and found to be in possession of more than three-fourths of an ounce of cocaine and crack, which has a street value of about $1,500, police said.
The parole warrant was from Brooklyn for an undisclosed post-release supervision violation, police said.
Gonzalez is scheduled to be arraigned in City Court, police said.
