St. Joseph's Church in Dolgeville is a small rural parish, serving a large geographic area - 283 acres of central New York.
Our history traces back to the formation of St. Bridget's Parish of Salisbury in 1872 and St. Joseph's Parish in 1895.
We have to raise $125,000 to make structural changes and renovations to continue serving our historic and vibrant population.
It is unusual for a parish of our size to have the opportunity to stay functioning today. Yet there is a need to help the smaller Catholic communities to continue to serve our people. It can't always come down to large numbers of parishioners and lots of money.
We have put a new roof on, repaired the chimney and flue, and are repairing a furnace problem in our parish hall. And at present, all bills are paid.
We are seeking financial assistance to reach our total commitment, at which time the diocese will grant us enough money to complete the work.
Will you help us? Wouldn't you like to see the underdog win?
Any assistance you can give is needed and will be appreciated - it could keep us alive. Our address is St. Joseph Church, 31 N. Helmer Ave., Dolgeville, NY 13329.
